Tom Henly

Tom completed his RIBA Part I at the Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL, in 2024, where he was awarded the Recycling and Response to Local Fabric Prize and an RIBA London Student Award. While studying, he co-founded the RELAY event series, connecting students across different years to share their work and discuss their experiences in architecture.

Tom’s early interest in photography evoked a fascination with structures, which later evolved into a focus on fabrication and construction techniques. His projects have ranged from smelting glass in a homemade kiln to machining custom darts on a lathe. His design process is grounded in a practical understanding of tools and technology, with a particular interest in craftsmanship and how it intersects with architecture.

In his spare time, Tom enjoys expanding his tool collection, cricket, running and photography.
